After the first week of the 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC), Team Taiwan delivered four thrilling games that captured fans’ hearts. MOD ELTA TV, which holds exclusive rights to all 47 games, achieved record-breaking ratings—especially during the March 11 matchup against the Netherlands, when slugger Yu-Cheng Chang (“Minister of Defense”) hit a grand slam, driving ratings to an astonishing 11.43—the highest sports broadcast rating of the past year. Despite losing the opening game to Panama, Taiwan’s comeback victory over Italy on March 10, their epic performance against the Netherlands on March 11, and the decisive matchup against Cuba on March 12 achieved massive ratings of 9.09, 11.43, and 7.68, respectively. Overall, WBC’s first-week viewership on ELTA surpassed the average ratings of last year’s Qatar World Cup by 2.2 times!

MOD ELTA announced its acquisition of exclusive new media broadcast rights for the season and will feature four live games daily, showcasing elite MLB action and superstars like Chang and Shohei Ohtani.

The new MLB season brings upgraded viewing experiences—viewers can watch selected Chinese-language live broadcasts daily on MOD ELTA Sports 1 (CH200) and 2 (CH201), while ELTA Sports MAX online channels will air three additional original-audio games per day, totaling four MLB matchups daily.
