This summer, the world’s biggest sporting event—the 2024 Paris Olympic Games—will officially open on July 26. MOD ELTA TV proudly announces that it has secured exclusive rights as Taiwan’s official broadcaster for all Olympic events. Partnering with Chunghwa Telecom for Complete Olympic Coverage
ELTA Achieves a New Milestone with Official Public Listing

ELTA’s Olympic journey began with the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and since then, the brand has become synonymous with Olympic broadcasting in Taiwan. Overcoming the challenges of the COVID-delayed Tokyo 2020 Games, ELTA and long-term partner Chunghwa Telecom accompanied Taiwanese audiences as Team Taiwan achieved its best-ever Olympic performance, igniting nationwide sports enthusiasm. In 2024, ELTA once again serves as Taiwan’s exclusive official broadcaster, continuing to deliver professional, full-scale Olympic coverage for an all-around viewing experience. ELTA Technology (8487), committed to sustainable development, is set to be officially listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in the first quarter of 2024—becoming the nation’s first fully new-media listed company. On March 1, ELTA held a corporate performance conference outlining its annual goals and its mission to foster a sustainable ecosystem for Taiwan’s new-media sports broadcasting industry.

Paris Hosts Its First Summer Olympics in a Century
ELTA Brings Viewers “The Sustainable Olympics”

The 2024 Paris Olympics will mark the French capital’s third time hosting the Games—and the first in a century since 1924. This historic event symbolizes the world’s recovery from the pandemic and a new era of “Sustainable Olympics.” In a major departure from tradition, Paris will transform its iconic landmarks into competition venues: beach volleyball at the Eiffel Tower, 3x3 basketball, BMX, skateboarding, and breaking at Place de la Concorde, and equestrian events at the Palace of Versailles. An impressive 95% of venues will be existing facilities or urban landmarks, embracing environmental sustainability while giving the city renewed meaning through sport.
The 2024 Games will also make history with full gender equality among athletes. The official emblem itself reflects the organizing committee’s commitment to gender balance. In addition, breaking (“breakdancing”) will debut as an official Olympic sport, with 32 top B-Boys and B-Girls from around the globe competing for the highest honor in their field.

Badminton stars Tai Tzu-Ying, Chou Tien-Chen, and the doubles pair Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin are also competing in BWF World Tour tournaments to earn Olympic ranking points and are expected to represent Taiwan once again. Meanwhile, athletes in judo, weightlifting, tennis, and golf are intensively training to secure additional Olympic berths for Team Taiwan.
