March 26, 2024

ELTA Technology (8487), Taiwan’s first new-media company dedicated to sports broadcasting, was officially listed today (March 26) on the Taiwan Stock Exchange’s Innovation Board, marking another strong addition to the platform.

The listing and opening ceremony took place at the TWSE Information Hall, with ELTA Chairperson Sally Chen joined by Chunghwa Telecom Chairman Kuo Shui-Yi, TWSE General Manager Chien Li-Chung, Hung Yuan Securities Chairman Chiang Ke-Chin and General Manager Lin Cheng-Min, Deloitte Taiwan Chairman Shao Chih-Ming, Deputy COO Wu Shih-Chung, and CPAs Lin Wen-Chin and Liu Yi-Ching. Together with ELTA employees, the executives struck the opening gong at 9:00 a.m. to celebrate this historic milestone. ELTA debuted on the Innovation Board at its offering price of NT$50 per share, soaring by 56% upon market opening.

ELTA Chairperson Sally Chen stated: “Throughout our journey, we are deeply grateful for everyone who has supported our growth. ELTA will continue to stand firmly on the Chunghwa Telecom MOD platform, writing history through sports broadcasting and connecting the world through digital media, creating a win-win future for shareholders, employees, partners, and audiences.”

ELTA focuses on expanding its presence in the new-media market through Chunghwa Telecom’s MOD and OTT streaming platforms—setting itself apart from traditional cable TV networks. Equipped with advanced media technology capabilities, ELTA continues to innovate amid evolving technologies such as 5G, AI, and metaverse-based virtual media applications. By continuously adopting 4K, AR, VR, and multi-angle broadcasting technologies, the company pioneers new methods in large-scale sports event broadcasting. These innovations have helped ELTA build a strong reputation and leadership position in Taiwan’s new-media sports broadcasting market. ELTA also maintains strong partnerships with international sports rights holders, creating Taiwan’s premier sports broadcasting platform and offering integrated streaming services to viewers and partners alike, establishing high barriers to entry in the industry.

Operating under a dual-engine strategy combining sports broadcasting with drama and entertainment content, ELTA delivers diverse and high-quality programming that attracts audiences across different interests—fostering brand loyalty and expanding its viewer base.

Operationally, ELTA achieved a pre-tax profit of NT$172 million in 2023, representing a 130% increase year-over-year. EPS for 2023 reached NT$5.98, significantly higher than NT$2.81 in 2022. The company’s gross profit margin rose from 19.36% in 2022 to 35.41% in 2023, marking a record high since its founding. Return on equity also improved from 20.39% in 2022 to 31.88% in 2023—demonstrating outstanding profitability and financial performance. Additionally, revenue for January–February 2024 grew by 7.58% compared with the same period last year, underscoring steady year-over-year growth.

Looking ahead, ELTA will continue implementing its “year-round, no off-season” event strategy to further expand its audience base and solidify growth for 2024. Moreover, in the second half of the year, ELTA will once again partner with Chunghwa Telecom to broadcast the Paris Olympics—expected to drive record-high viewership and contribute strong growth momentum to ELTA’s 2024 performance.
