The 2025 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Taiwan, widely hailed as the "Olympics for Entrepreneurs," recently held its award ceremony. Sally Chen, chairperson of ELTA TV, received high recognition and was honored with the Sportech Trailblazer Entrepreneur Of The Year, commending ELTA's pioneering role in the new media sector.
ELTA Technology began investing in online video during Taiwan's dial-up internet era, becoming the first to propose the concept of the "Fifth Channel" and a cross-platform new media service. By redefining the film and television industry with a technological mindset, ELTA became the world's first company to secure new media broadcasting rights for the Olympic Games. This established an innovative benchmark for digital sports broadcasting in Taiwan, ushering in the current prosperity of streaming over 15,000 hours of sports events annually.
This year's EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Taiwan theme, " Shape the future with intelligence," celebrates outstanding entrepreneurs who continuously drive sustainable development and promote industrial upgrading through innovative breakthroughs.
Chairperson Sally Chen stated: "I am extremely grateful to the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Taiwan judging panel for this honor. ELTA will continue to embody the spirit of diligence, passion, professionalism, and dedication, lead ELTA to use AI and innovative technology as a driving force, to be brave in breaking through barriers, and to strive for prominence. More importantly, we aim to make the sports broadcasting industry a force for positive upstream and downstream circulation, creating an 'eyeball economy' while letting the world see Taiwan's energy and perseverance, allowing more people to be moved by sports, and to enjoy watching sports even more through technological empowerment.
